LINX COMMUNICATIONS APPOINTS GARY LASHER AS CHAIRMAN OF BOARD

Brings Extensive Telecom Expertise to Lead Company's Next Stage of Growth

Newton, MA - November 15, 1999 - Linx Communications, Inc., a leading Communications Service Provider (CSP), today announced the appointment of Gary Lasher as Chairman of the Board. Lasher had been appointed as a director on Linx' board earlier this year.

"This is a great opportunity because this space is on the verge of being the hottest space in telecom, said Lasher. "The Linx service is an exciting value-added service that solves a real need in today's world of too many numbers and voice mails."

Lasher has enjoyed an illustrious career in telecommunications. He founded and served as CEO of Eastern Telelogic, one of the first CLECs in the country, serving Eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware and Southern New Jersey. It was sold to TCG and is now part of AT&T Local. Lasher was chairman of the CLEC industry organization, the Association of Local Telecommunications Services (ALTS), for three consecutive years. Lasher's previous experience also includes senior executive positions at Contel, an independent ILEC now part of GTE.

"We are very fortunate to have someone of Gary's caliber taking on a more active role on the Linx management team," said Joe Gately, president and CEO of Linx Communications. "Gary is clearly a visionary in seeking an early opportunity in the CLEC business and brings great insight to Linx as we build out our enhanced services offerings. Gary's contacts and experience will be great assets as part of our strategy to partner with CLECs. We look forward to leveraging his industry knowledge and strategic guidance as we enter the next phase in our company's growth."
