LINX COMMUNICATIONS OPENS ITS NETWORK ARCHITECTURE TO CARRIERS, CLECs, ISPs AND VALUE-ADDED RESELLERS
Enables Providers To Quickly And Cost-Effectively Broaden Service Portfolio With Enhanced Telecommunications Applications
Newton, Mass. - January 10, 2000 - Linx Communications, Inc., a leading communications Application Service Provider (ASP) delivering unified communications and messaging services to businesses and individuals, today announced that it is opening its network architecture to carriers, CLECs, ISPs, value-added resellers and other service providers. This will enable service providers to leverage Linx' existing national network architecture to quickly and cost-effectively broaden their service portfolio with a wide range of web-enabled enhanced telecommunications applications, including one-number, virtual PBX and other services.
By opening its network, Linx now gives carriers, CLECs and resellers the ability to host service providers' applications and services on Linx' network. Additionally, the service provider could resell or brand Linx' suite of innovative voice and data services including its one-number, virtual PBX, follow-me, fax and conferencing services. Using Linx' network, service providers can save the exorbitant cost and resources associated with deploying new networks and services on their own.
"There is increasing pressure on a wide range of carriers and service providers to continue to differentiate themselves from their competitors by quickly and cost-effectively delivering new services. Linx offers carriers and resellers a full and proven suite of unified communications services and applications that fulfill customer demand while increasing revenue and reducing churn," said Joe Gately, president and CEO of Linx Communications. "It's so quick to get these services up and running that service providers can easily run trials to test the concept before making any long-term commitments. We give them a turnkey approach to turning up new services without the capital costs of building, testing and maintaining their own unified communications network."
Linx' national network currently includes local points of presence (POPs) in Boston, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and Washington, DC. Linx is expanding its POPs to additional cities including Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Miami and Philadelphia. Several CLECs and providers are partnered with Linx including essential.com, TeleGea, Winstar, and CTC.
