Telephone Interface
As you begin to grow more familiar with you Linx account, you will find that one of the most important things to know is how to put a caller on hold. You do this by pressing the # key 3 times (###). Some of the things you can do by pressing ### to place a caller on hold, include:
- Check "Call Waiting"
When you hear a call waiting tone, place your first caller on hold (###) and then press # again to hear a name announcement for the next caller. You may then choose to take the call, transfer the caller to another number or send the call to voice mail.
- Transfer a caller (to whom you are already speaking)
If you need to transfer a caller after you have already connected to them, press ### to place the caller on hold. Then press the appropriate key to transfer the call (2 for voice mail, 3 for another number, 0 for your personal operator, etc.)
- Create a conference call
In order to create a conference call, you need to be very comfortable placing a caller on hold by pressing ###!
- Once you have placed the caller on hold, press 7 to place them in the conference room (this step will be repeated for every person you add to the conference).
- You may then call other participants (by pressing 3), put them on hold (### again!), and place them in the conference room (by pressing 7).
- Once you have added all the participants to your conference, press 1 to join your conference.
For more information on conferencing (including how to add participants who call you), visit our web-site (but first, make sure you can put your callers on hold by pressing ###!).
